2024 NLCS Redux:
In the 2024 NLCS, the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets combined to set a new record for a best-of-7 MLB Semifinals series lasting six games, with 72 total runs in those six games; the previous such record was 69 total runs, set in the 2011 National League Championship Series by the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers. In the 2024 NLCS, the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets combined to set a new record for a best-of-7 MLB playoff series (all rounds) lasting six games, with a sum of victory margins of 40 runs in those six games; the previous such record was a sum of victory margins of 34 runs, set in the 2021 American League Championship Series by the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox. In the 2024 NLCS, the Los Angeles Dodgers set a new record for a best-of-7 MLB playoff series (all rounds) lasting six games with 46 total runs, breaking the old record of 45 total runs set in the 1993 World Series by the Toronto Blue Jays.

2024 ALCS Redux:
The series victory by the New York Yankees ends a five-series losing streak by the Yankees in best-of-7 MLB playoff competition. Through ten total games of both 2024 MLB Semifinals series through 2024 ALCS Game 5, 2024 ALCS Game 5 was only the second game in which both teams held leads at some point in the game. Game 5 of the 2024 ALCS is only the fourth best-of-7 MLB playoff game in which the home team scored two total runs with one run in the second inning and one run in the fifth inning. The 2024 ALCS becomes the first best-of-7 MLB playoff series (all rounds) to feature multiple extra-inning games since the 2017 World Series between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the first best-of-7 MLB Semifinals series to feature multiple extra-inning games since the 2011 ALCS between the Detroit Tigers and the Texas Rangers.
