With the series 1071 victory, Cleveland improves its best-of-7 NBA playoff series record to 8-6 overall and 4-0 in the Preliminary round. With the series 1071 loss, Detroit sees its best-of-7 NBA playoff series record fall to 25-16 overall and 6-1 in the Preliminary round. Series 1071 thus becomes the eleventh NBA Preliminary-round series, the 52nd NBA series (all rounds), and the 179th MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to end in a four-game sweep. Series 1071 is also only the third best-of-7 NBA playoff series sweep in which the winner vanquished the loser by double-digit victory margins in each of the four games (the other two: series 374, in which the Boston Celtics defeated the Houston Rockets in the 1980 NBA Quarterfinals; series 921, in which the Indiana Pacers defeated the Boston Celtics in the 2004 NBA Preliminary round).
