After Game 7: The New York Rangers hosted and defeated the Ottawa Senators 2-goals-1 for a 4-games-3 MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1155 victory. With the series 1155 victory, the New York Rangers improve their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record to 25-35 overall and 9-6 in the Preliminary round. With the series 1155 loss, the Ottawa Senators see their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record fall to 8-13 overall (with an active four-series losing streak, begun with a loss in series 1004 in the 2007 NHL Finals) and 5-8 (with an active three-series losing streak) in the Preliminary round. The win order for the victorious New York Rangers in series 1155 was WLWLLWW: Series 1155 thus becomes the third NHL Preliminary-round series, the seventh NHL series (all rounds), and the fifteenth MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow that win order to completion.
After Game 6: Staving off elimination, the New York Rangers visited and bested the Ottawa Senators 3-goals-2 in MLB/NBA/NHL best-of-7 playoff series 1155 Game 6, thus forcing series 1155 to a Game 7 in New York.
