With the series 1164 win, the New Jersey Devils improve their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record to 24-17 overall and 7-3 in the NHL Quarterfinals. With the series 1164 loss, the Philadelphia Flyers see their best-of-7 NHL playoff series record fall to 38-30 overall and 16-9 in the NHL Quarterfinals. The win order for the victorious New Jersey Devils in series 1164 was LWWWW: Series 1164 thus becomes the ninth NHL Quarterfinals series, the 31st NHL series (all rounds), and the 52nd MLB/NBA/NHL series (all rounds) to follow this win order to completion. The New Jersey Devils thus advance to series 1167 in the 2012 NHL Semifinals round, where they will meet either the New York Rangers or the Washington Capitals (pending the outcome of series 1163).
